About this deal

As we used the P12 PWM in their "PST" Version, we were able to make use of their "Power Sharing Technology". In addition, we will select fans that will have the highest airflow in the 31 dBA mode and there will be room for further noise reduction. In this way, noise is kept at a minimum while maximum cooling performance is guaranteed when needed.

After letting Heavyload grill the CPU, we came to the following results while the Fans were spinning at 100% PWM. In addition, the P12 PWM PST A-RGB has rubberised contact surfaces and thus reduces audible vibrations to a minimum. Due to sinus-magnetizing the new motor only creates about 5 % of the vibration from the commutation of a regular DC motor without a filter. We use spectrograms instead of sound recordings for sound analysis precisely because we do not want a dispute to arise at the level of subjective perception of individual frequencies.Stand out point: If I had to narrow it down to one thing, I would say the fact they gave us a generous amount of cable and the connectors on it will allow you to Daisy Chain. As a result, there is less heat development as well as less bearing noise, which means you can enjoy a longer service life from your fan. It is hard to say how the characteristics of the P12 would change if a rotor made of LCP were used while maintaining the same geometry. Overall the Packaging does not feel cheap at all and the Unboxing experience resembles what we remember with more expensive Fans like the Noctua NF-F12.

Normally I would find the silver screws unattractive, but, this particular fan is white, so it should be fine. For these fans, the critical point is the level of the blades, or rather the tonal spikes, which arise based on the nature of their undulations (and catching resonant frequencies). It’s only at the level of really fine detail that you’ll find that the P12 has slightly looser manufacturing tolerances than Arctic fans with a similar rotor. As usual, the Azza Hive got 2 Fans in the Front as Intake and 1 in the Back (or top if 140mm) as exhaust. While we attached the first Fan to the PWM header on the Mainboard, the short PST extension forced us to also rout the Cable of every other fan to the front of the case.

But among the group of Bang-For-the-Buck Builders, Arctic's Fans are well known for their Performance. The operating noise of the newly-developed ARCTIC motor is barely perceptible, even at the lowest speed. If the peak is relatively slimmer/sharper (and lower), it is mostly about the sound of the bearings. Arctic's Lineup of P12 Fans, may not seem to be the go-to choice for the Average "Performance"-PC Build. One of the main selling points is how a fan can adjust its speed depending on the temperature of the item it is cooling. And in fact, our dB-meter and the Audio Recording of our Benchmarking both confirmed that there is absolutely no difference between having Anti-Vibration-Pads and not.

On the back of the box, there are the specifications and a few drawings of what the fan is capable of and what to expect. So with the same size hub, the gaps between the blades are naturally smaller on the P12, so there is less room for airflow leakage and higher static pressure is achieved. Additionally, the 120 mm versions of the new P-fans can be easily mounted to existing Freezer 32 and Freezer 33 models. If you want to control several fans from one unique motherboard header, you can use PWM splitter cables such as the ARCTIC PST Cable rev2 . This allows silent operation in IDLE and at the same time guarantees maximum performance when required.

This means that the airflow loss due to obstacle resistance is smaller with the P12 than with the P120.
