It's official - Guildford is getting its very own edition of Monopoly after winning a fiercely-contested public vote, which saw the town narrowly beat Windsor to the accolade. As a long-standing charity of 36 years, we loved the idea of being on the Guildford Monopoly board and, as a charity, we use social media to promote Cherry Trees on a daily basis so this was a perfect competition for us.

The East Clandon charity, which offers home-from-home specialist short breaks for children and young people with disabilities, won the spot after being chosen in a public vote. Six images from The Drawn Blank Series have been released in new colourways and went on sale at Castle Fine Art in the High Street on Friday. Get Surrey ran its own poll during the vote to determine the popularity of a handful of Guildford's iconic landmarks, with Guildford Cathedral coming out on top. Following a public vote for two charities to have their name take pride of place on the board, The Halow Project will appear on one of the board's "Community Chest" tiles.
Halow supports young adults with a learning disability to live meaningful independent, fulfilled lives. Guildford's very own edition of Monopoly is finally here - and Get Surrey has been given a sneak preview of what to expect. The board will immortalise Guildford and its heritage both past, present and pointing to the future, and with both the public and retail interest we are sure it will prove to be a Christmas best-seller.

And should Get Surrey HQ here at Stoke Mill in Woking Road get a look in, perhaps in place of Fleet Street on the original board? The town will go head-to-head with Cranbrook, Epping Forest, Marlow, St Albans and Windsor later this year when the contest is put to public vote. G Live is set to take a square on the board, along with other key Guildford landmarks like Guildford Cathedral and Guildford Castle - and the Surrey Advertiser and Get Surrey . Get Surrey can, however, reveal that Guildford Cathedral has been given the prime spot on the board, taking the place of Mayfair.
