About this deal

I’m not going to tell you if it was the right move or not in relation to what happens in the book but my heart wanted what my heart wanted but I felt the conflict within Juliette SO INTENSELY.

When she's not reading you can find her doing Pilates followed by eating ice cream, belting out Hamilton (loud and offkey) and having adventures with her husband, daughter and rescue dog. I think many readers won’t disagree about MORE books from this series, we know it’s the end but we just can’t part with it YET, or ever! Kenji convinces Adam to bring James and join them at the compound by telling him Juliette is still in love with him and missing him. Juliette tells Kenji that Warner is not the person they all think he is and that he has said he is in love with her. Warner is recovering at the base and doing everything he can to suppress rumors of a rebellion and keep his soldiers in line.

She also survives in an asylum for almost a year, completely isolated and starved, with talk of torture and shock treatments she endured before that. Juliette stays the night but in the morning there is a big emotional scene between Adam and Juliette. But then his father arrives and it becomes apparent that he has very different plans for Juliette that Warner can’t stand back and let happen.

In full disclosure, it’s been a really long time since I read the the first batch of Shatter Me books. I’m finally aware of the familiar foreignness of this room and I’m quickly seized by a panic that screams I did not wake up where I fell asleep. Just as Juliette feels she's gained a friend, soldiers come and whisk them away and she learns who Adam really is: a soldier sent to spy on her and make sure she's still sane. I also felt like how Adam reacted to everything, how bitter and cruel he was, was done on purpose to make it easier for us to hate him and like Warner. Juliette is rejected and abused by her parents growing up, sent to an asylum, and still finds good in the world and other people.

She says, though, Warner has a right to know that Adam and James are his brothers and that if Adam won’t tell him, she will.

In Unravel Me, she largely is learning about her powers and trying to OWN them and is also trying to heal mentally and overcome everything that happened in Shatter Me. For new readers to the series a quick glance at all the books published might leave you scratching your head. Biography: Tahereh Mafi is the New York Times bestselling author of the Shatter Me series which has been published in over 30 languages around the world. Nothing graphic at all, one part where the main character says the word sex, other than that just kissing.

I was happy to see Juliette finally embrace her inner badass, even if that (I felt) was slightly rushed. In SHATTER ME, Juliette has been isolated and starved in an asylum for almost a year when they tell her she's to have a roommate.
