While the Osprey comet is a very good backpack, some people prefer the pocket organization options of the nebula. There is one more zippered pocket on the outside of the Comet and this is good for holding things like keys and other small items. Note that they will not comfortably hold a bigger water bottle and will hold a reusable hiking bottle. Having a padded laptop sleeve in your backpack is a great way to protect your computer when you are on the go.

You want to be able to use your gear, and it should be able to handle most of what you throw at it (short of getting run over by a train). There is one on the top, and maybe a bit unusually one on the back (this is great for when the backpack is lying flat – which can happen a lot).

The Talon 22 is more of a strictly sport daypack so perfect if you only really need a pack for your gym kit.

With an independent 16" laptop compartment and a roomy main compartment with internal organization for daily essentials, it travels seamlessly from campus or commute to your extracurriculars. This has never been more true than in 2020, a year when many of us have had to curtail our travel plans. There is also a separate sleeve to hold a hydration bladder, but I wouldn’t feel to comfortable keeping my hydration bladder next to my laptop.
