About this deal

Den er sammensat af single malt fra Speyside, Lowlands og Islay, derefter tilsættes en mild og fin grain whisky. Pigs Nose whiskey is a blended Scotch whiskey, created and produced by the Cardhu Distillery in Scotland.

Det skyldes at den er utroligt blød og rund, og da man i Skotland har en talemåde der lyder ”as smooth as a pig’s nose”, har man det helt ideelle navn.I have never suckled a pig’s nose, nor do I have any intention to, but I understand everyone has a niche.

In the age of George Osborne (speaking of pig noses), that’s just a bit more than a loaf of bread or the bus fare to the job centre. Nicol reportedly took the brand with him when he left Whyte and Mackay, and this is what he made of it. The light bodied spirit allows for easy sipping making this enjoyable even if you don’t usually like peaty whiskies. When tasting Pigs Nose Scotch for the first time, you will notice its aroma bursts with sweet smokiness, complemented by subtle hints of oak and vanilla. Dating back to the 1970s, Pig’s Nose is proof that blended Scotch doesn’t need to be either old or expensive to be good.As legend goes, when the old farmer sampled his own whiskey it reminded him of the smell of a pig’s snout – thus becoming known as ‘pigs nose’. Since its creation, Pig’s Nose whisky has received two gold medal awards at different blind tasting events and one silver medal at another event.

Our eco-friendly approach doesn't compromise on protection, ensuring your items are safe during transit. The nose has a rich, oily texture, and the main scent reminded me of nothing so much as warm butterscotch. This combination makes for a unique style of whisky that stands out – especially among other whisky brands. One way to better understand Pig Noses Scotch’s flavor profile is to try each step in its production process separately – starting with its foundation grain (malted barley), followed by aging in ex-bourbon barrels and finishing off with blending it together with peated malt. Created by Richard Paterson, the chap behind the Sheep Dip range, comes another farmyard-themed whisky - it’s Pig’s Nose!

The drink also managed to obtain a score of 97 points out of 100 at another prestigious rating system – an impressive accomplishment! These whiskies are predominantly matured in high-quality ex-bourbon oak casks, with a significant portion being first-fill casks. This creates a sweet and smooth finish with heathery floral notes and underlying hints of smokey peat. For those looking for an affordable yet tasty bottle with an interesting backstory (Richard Paterson assembled casks from all over Scotland! Otherwise if you are inclined towards something sweeter then try pairing it off with some dark chocolate desserts or your favorite pipe tobacco smoke when finishing your night off around the fireplace…yum!
