it actually got me thinking about film/tv adaptations and how one can read a text like this and then have a complete vision and transform it into a work of art which is literally how the movie is compared to the book. i hate the cheating trope, so the fact that it happened throughout almost the whole book was horrible. I originally only bought the book because my favorite actress sofia carson is going to play cassie in a movie adaption. I’ll probably be disappointed with the film as well, since I’ve seen the trailer and I have to point out a HUGE discrepancy. The story felt real and I liked the plot and all it's conflicts but the ending was so abrupt which was disappointing.

the characters cassie and luke have very real struggles and passions and following their thoughts and emotions through the first person narrative was very interesting, I couldn’t put the book away. I usually chalked it up to student loan–related anxiety, and tried to nail the source of this particular spell: Deeply hungry? Props to the writing, which was fine, but otherwise I’m struggling to come up with a redeeming thing to say about this book.When Frankie refuses, her handsome but frustratingly intense boyfriend Luke volunteers to marry Cassie.
