About this deal

Today, it is easier than ever to truly communicate with an author and to get response to comment, praise and even criticisms. As Ledger sees Kenna’s emotions, he struggles against the town’s perception of Kenna as some heartless monster who left Scotty to die on a remote rural road. We'll keep seeing each other in secret and we'll fall in love, but they won't change their minds and I'll still have to leave, but it'll hurt a hell of a lot worse in a few weeks than if I were just to leave right now.

Still, Colleen Hoover is known for delivering eminently readable stories, and this is just as riveting as the rest. I loved the little bits of Roman we got, he was the only one who was understanding towards Kenna and didn't judge her for her mistakes. The storm aside, this was a complete and happy ending and the epilogue had tears streaming from my eyes in stinging happiness. Dean ignites feelings in her Sky never knew existed, and the intense chemistry they share lights sparks that threaten to resurface buried memories she's better off without. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of readers felt strongly that Kenna's situation is too harsh or too lenient. The two must decide if they are willing to fight for a future together when it is all put at risk of falling apart. I press my mouth to his because nothing I could say would convey how much I appreciate the validation he just gave to me.

It isn't long before the mother and daughter walk separate paths and stray so further apart there may not be a way back together.

This story was beautifully painful and i bawled my eyes out in almost every page but it was worth it. After reading Verity, I wasn’t sure if her books were really up my alley, but I’ve been in the mood for some romance lately, so I naturally Hoover’s latest release was on my radar. Now that Kenna is released, she is determined to earn forgiveness and finally meet her four-year-old daughter, but they want nothing to do with her. I just found the first-person telling-not-showing writing and the insta-smash relationship to be so utterly off-putting that I started to resent every minute I spent with these characters.

Trigger warnings for Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover include drug and alcohol use, a car accident, grief, incarceration, depression, and neglect of a child. Kenna believes the best way to meet her daughter is to go up to the Landrys’ front door and simply tell them how sorry she is. Riddled with guilt, she plead guilty, and she was too heartbroken to discuss her side of the story in public at her sentencing. It’s hard to deny the massive popularity of Colleen Hoover novels, which hook readers in with gripping love stories that are somehow always different, yet guaranteed to tug on your heart. In Reminders of Him, Kenna has recently gotten out of prison for a drunk driving accident that resulted in her boyfriend Scotty’s death. without even really noticing it, i found myself relating to Kenna (mc) and the emotions she went through. Despite the devastating reasons of grief and regret driving significant actions, the story glorifies the "I can fix him" belief and normalizes comparatively toxic relationships. People judged her for what happened that night, but she was distressed to the point where it lead her into pleading guilty because she felt like she needed to be punished for that accident, when in fact the truth is both Scotty AND Kenna were high/drunk and got in the car.

Her mother is so bitter and resentful that Kenna was ungrateful to her for saving her from foster care (and then still proceeding to emotionally abuse and neglect her daughter), she refuses to even apply for visitation rights or half custody of Diem so that Kenna would at least be able to see her daughter whilst in prison. Kenna is described as someone with a unfortunate childhood, resulting in being someone in her younger years who wasn’t really “put together”, dressed somewhat provocatively and wasn’t the type of person parents wanted their son to bring home. really said diversity✨ in this one and made sure to mention that Ledger hired black and hispanic people in his bar.has a child in prison, that gets taken away by Scotty's parents who are very adamant about her never seeing her again. And I certainly wouldn't be surprised if those two groups ended up overlapping, with the same readers feeling both. She is a thorough reader and watches a lot of romcoms, and sitcoms, and loves to go on and on about the characters. Although she understands the risks, she heads back to her hometown, determined to meet her daughter, Diem, born while she was in prison and now being raised by Scotty’s parents.
