This is really powerful and cleans my big rug after my small dog (who is pretty clean) and my big husband who leaves a trail of mess and destruction wherever he goes! We’re impressed with how much you get for your money when you factor in the suction power and motorised pet tool. To tackle this I used a combination of the brush and crevice tool accessories since I wanted to clear any dust (and other messes) from around the skirting, too.

The best models have no trouble sucking up bits of various sizes, and the worst struggle to lift anything and clog up easily during use. Despite the bulky and long design of the CH950UKT, we never felt that it was tiring or uncomfortable to use.

This really is a five star item but because it has no stand and has to lay on the floor for charging it loses a star, sorry about the shark. With powerful suction and three clever attachments to target hard-to-reach areas and remove embedded hair, Shark’s HandVac Pet Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is designed for homes with pets. We found it great to use on car seats, where the motorised brush bar was able to remove both dirt and pet hair. It's important that both parts are completely dry before putting the handheld vac back together (don't be tempted to use the hairdryer), and to not put them in the dishwasher.

This is important, as you’ll need to switch it on and off regularly to maximise the short battery run-time. You can expect that to drop a little with the motorized tool attached, but we had plenty of time to make our way around our car on a single charge, with even a little power to spare at the end. It’s still an ergonomic design though, and feels good to hold, with the handle built into its main body.As it’s a relatively large handheld, this makes it less convenient than some of the alternatives we’ve mentioned. That said, we found that it offers impressive suction power that can pick up debris of all sizes from a range of surfaces.
