I went into this with the generic thinking of good/evil and came out with a completely different opinion on this. As much as I enjoy being tortured by a book, this series takes it to another level and quite frankly, I am just not sure whether I want to put myself through this kind of abuse.

All of the novel's ambition seems to have gone into the worldbuilding and magic system and then not been allowed to affect the actual plot.
