About this deal

There were many themes that ran throughout the novel which meant that the actual plot wasn’t boring. The theme of loss is shown when Link leaves his house and loses basically everything and is forced onto the street. Adventure and courage are both shown when Link is on the street and has to stand up for himself and only survives on what he gets from begging. Even love is shown in the novel when Link meets a beautiful lady named Gail who he instantly falls in love with after seeing her. I seriously cannot believe the things that happened in this book. Jennifer really is striving to blow minds. There's so much crazy. Crazy good and crazy baaaad.

Overall I think that this novel is very good and I would recommend it to fans of realistic horror novels but I think most people would enjoy because of the various theme that it uses. It is definitely a novel aimed at the older reader as the ideas in the novel can be a bit heavy going and may scare younger readers. I would rate this novel a 3 out of 5. From the blurb: Oliver Stone, the leader of the mysterious group that calls itself the Camel Club, is both feared and respected by those who've crossed his path. Keeping a vigilant watch over our leaders in Washington, D.C., the Camel Club has won over some allies, but it has also earned formidable enemies-including those in power who will do anything to prevent Stone and his friends from uncovering the hidden, secret work of the government. The Hero(s): Zayne - a gargoyle shifter and son of the head warden. He is four years older than Layla and her best friend. Layla has had a crush on Zayne for years. Zayne is very good to Layla. Además, lo que pasa en las habitaciones... PASAN MUCHAS COSAS, ¿OK? Stone Cold Touch continues the series with Layla adjusting to her usual life again without the demon Roth. Pretty soon she and the Wardens discover a Lilin has been born, a powerful demon that can turn humans into wraiths, and it seems to be Layla's fault.

That said, some readers will be disturbed by the extent to which a few threads at the end of the story are left untied. But, for me, that just spells sequel and I'll spend the next few months waiting with bated breath. Layla's powers begin changing and she gets the chance to see what she has been missing, which leads to a very steamy car scene. Those of you who've read the book, know what I mean. It's not the best story in the world, but I really enjoyed it and became more fond of the characters. I think the book would equally appeal to boys and girls because of Link and Gail. I would give this book five star rating because it is full of emotions and tells you about the life of homeless people on one hand and brings out the ugly face of our society in which a husband betrays his wife, who in turn betrays her children by bringing in a boyfriend rather than devoting her life to her children. This sad story of Link highlights the tragedy, which the children of broken families had to face in our society. I thought this book was brilliant!! I really enjoyed reading it. I think this was the best book I have read so far, and gives me more reason to read more books. You can make your own image about it, and that makes the book as well as it is. The author wrote the book in a very gripping manner so it is easy to imagine how Link feels like and what he thinks about. In my point of view the novel is very realistic in its description of the life on the streets. This is no fairy tale. It's a grim depiction of homelessness, and a sharp criticism of our apathy towards it. I think that Stone cold was a thrilling and gripping story and the way that Robert Swindells captured the evilness of shelter was amazing. This teaches us a lesson of how bad it is living on the street homeless with a serial killer looking for you. As you can see Link shouldn’t have left home. At least he had his mother to look after and who knows what Vince would’ve done to Link’s mother afterwards.

Gail: Gail is the girl who Link later on falls in love with. She is from Glasgow. She left home because of her stepfather; this was also a common link between them. When Link and Gail met he was making up his mind to stay on his own after Ginger disappeared. But soon she created a place in Link’s ongoing life. Link thinks that Gail is not what she looks from outside but still he ignores it and falls in love with her. Gail had a supporting role in the book. I liked the way this character came into Link’s life. Gail at the end tells Link that she is not what she posed. She tells that she is a journalist and was doing a research on the life of homeless people and then she left him. Gail seems selfish at this point, but I guess that is how life goes on. At this stage you develop more sympathy towards Link. Highly recommended for lovers of suspense thrillers and fans of David Baldacci and his wonderful creation, The Camel Club. I'd say that interestingly the main character was about a homeless person not having a good relationship with family and deciding to become homeless. It was interesting because you wouldn't think that many interesting points can come across in this but in actual fact there were. Layla’s relationship with Zayne began to change about this time. He started spending more and more time with her, touching her, cuddling with her. Layla knew this was dangerous. The part of her that is half demon feeds off of souls and because of this, she can never kiss Zayne. There can’t be a future with him, can there? But Zayne has other thoughts on this subject. I do know mommy dearest will break free eventually and I'm kind of excited about that. What kind of mayhem will she cause for Layla? Is it weird that I'm suspecting she will hit on Roth? Or maybe Zayne...she does have a thing for wardens, no?Mrs. Armentrout presented nothing new in this book. We have seen it all in her previous books or in other books within YA genre. There is nothing special that would distinguish main characters of this series from other YA heroes and heroines. Yes, author came up with some pretty interesting twists towards the end. But even exciting last 20% couldn't change the fact that I was a little bit bored during first 80% of the book. I liked that the author gave relevance to Layla's friends. They aren’t there just for the sake of it, but they have a role in the story and are constantly getting into the plot.

About here is where there is so much I want to say but don’t want to spoil anything. I will say that my love for Roth took a blow at this point. I also felt sorry for Harry. He had no choice but to follow his mother's commands. He was raised by her with only one purpose in life. Yet, he was worried about his family and he was hoping to keep his two lives separate. Link’s narrative details the day-to-day trials of homelessness. He talks about the bitter cold of nights on the street, the burning hunger, the struggles of panhandling, the impossibility of getting a job and the nightly fear of others lurking in nearby dark doorways. One day, Ginger doesn’t return to the boys’ designated meeting place. Link is hurt and concerned, but another of Ginger’s friends says this is just the way it works. Maybe he got a job, decided to leave town, or any number of things. Readers learn from Shelter’s narrative that Ginger has become the newest soldier in his army of dead drifters.I have really mixed feelings about this book. I love Roth and Layla together and their scenes were the best part. I was absoulutly bored with Zayn and Layla. Roth is just perfect and was the only character who didn't annoy me at all. Trouble at home was the reason for Link to move away from home. Link felt betrayed by his family because no one was looking for him, there was no one who cared about if he was alive or dead. This is a previously published cover edition of ASIN B00IPDVGKW. Alternate cover editions for this ASIN can be found here and here. A multitude of things happened in Stone Cold. I felt sad for Oliver, he has lost everything except for his friends from the Camel Club. Gray was a great adversary. An evil man with his own personal agenda.
