It’s one thing getting extra campaigns via DLC but when it is just characters and skins, it all feels a bit of a rip off to me. The roster for this game is varied with fan favourites as well as an abundance of new and interesting kombatants. Summary Includes main game, and new playable characters Alien, Leatherface, Triborg, and Bo'Rai Cho. I thought it was great, sure you'll still have your preferences but at least you'll have that option to experiment with the same character, see what works best for you.

These share a fatality move set unfortunately but it’s still a nice way to add some extra characters to the game.

There are plenty gameplay options to keep them entertained, and each character has 3 variations, essentially giving them 3x the amount of depth to each. Mortal Kombat XL is the definitive version of one of the best fighting games of this generation and is well worth a look. It's not the greatest, nor the deepest, fighting game around, but it is gleefully gory fun for long stretches. There are also some well known horror and, sci-fi characters such as, the Predator, a xenomorph from aliens.I enjoy this game a great deal but for me it has to be with good company, easy to pick up and get to grips with so you shouldn't feel that you need any previous experience, you'll just learn as you play! It’ll last you a while (longevity can be an issue with fighting games) at least until you’ve seen and done everything and it is straight up a lot of fun.
