The Large EquiGroomer effectively removes loose hair, dirt and dander on all parts of a horse’s body, including their legs and bellies. Suitable for use on almost all animals that have a coat that need helps with shedding, coming in two sizes for bigger and smaller animals. I like that it is very gentle, as one has been diagnosed with IBD and i think this will be less aggressive on his skin than a standard brush. Now that we are coming into summer I am using the EquiGroomer on all of the horses at the yard and have had no problems with it. This works great on them both, they were very chilled out with it, though it’s a slightly different technique as the fur doesn’t get trapped on any bristles. The EquiGroomer is a superb product that has been described by many as ‘the most fabulous shedding tool ever’. This is predominantly due to the fact that he can be a bit tickly and as he was fully rugged there wasn’t a lot of mud on him.

As I received the product in December my horse was fully clipped, and although the product description claims that the tool is good for sensitive horses, I decided to wait until shedding season to test it on him.

Although it is made from hardened steel I do wonder if the blade will wear down in time, becoming less effective and will therefore have to be replaced. It is also especially effective at lifting grease and wax from the horse’s coat (see image below), leaving them nice and shiny, however this is slightly tricky to clean off the blade.This also helps to bring natural oils onto the skin, which is particularly important for animals that are bathed on a regular basis. Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. I found that the EquiGroomer performed similarly to a metal curry comb and was effective at removing dried mud from his long coat.
