About this deal

Greed, the addition of more money and more power, drives these people to the exclusion of all else in their lives.

The story is told in a back and forth format between Sara Hall and the elevator where the escape room game takes place. Toen ik het boek Escape room van Christopher Edge voorbij zag komen wist ik meteen dat ik het ontzettend graag wilde lezen.

At that particular point in the book I was able to put all my reservations aside and just enjoy the ride. It seems that winning the escape room isn't all they are fighting for, the continuation of the entire planet is! All in all, a book where your sucked into the environment, thrust into a wonderful world of intrigue with the hope that this endearing gang of strangers can hopefully save the world! Once I figured out the who and the what behind the escape room, I turned off the critical side of my brain, suspended my disbelief, and enjoyed the crazy ride!

I love the idea of escape rooms, a group of people working together to find clues that will enable them to solve a series of puzzles. Plot: Suspenseful, gripping, fast-paced, dark, sinister, chilling, captivating, imaginative, fanatical, and entertaining. The Escape Room is all about the careers of Wall Street financial wizards, Vincent, Jules, Sylvie, and Sam, who are employees of a company that puts money above all else.At the beginning we thought they didn’t deserve to be locked up and there might be some way to rescue them. However, as the door locks on the first room they realise there is potentially something more sinister at play.

This is a novel that involves stories you can either sp and try to solve yourself, or just continue reading to find out what happens. I love reading all kinds of books and this book was a fun one which did not require much thought but had a huge pay off in terms of enjoy-ability. The writing at many times seemed repetitive with lots of side stories that were introduced but never really completed. These four people are ruthless, selfish, dishonest people, that deserve to be locked in a room with each other forever.

Once they're in the elevator, they'll soon find this is no conventional escape-room challenge: the elevator is the escape room. There’s no getting away from this unputdownable thriller about teens being held captive in an escape room where the stakes are all too real. Towards the end of the book we get another massive information dump, so many details about why and how Sara does what she does. The book was fantastic at first it was hard to read but that is the same as all the books in the world but towards the end it was sooooooo good and especially the last chapter there was a HUGE plot twist that had me blown away! By the 33% finished mark, I had the perpetrator narrowed down to two possibilities and by the 50% mark, had it correctly sussed out.Why then open a book in the point of view of a throw away character in a third person voice (the author's weakness, she's truly brilliant in first person)? I truly loved the Sara character's voice and could've read an entire book about Sara's journey in that world of finance I know so little about.
