About this deal

Kawaii drawing is easy. If you’ve ever tried to draw a kitty or a pony, kawaii drawing will be as simple as child’s play.

This week’s drawing prompt is BEVERAGE. I couldn’t decide between tea and coffee, haha. So I went with my daughter’s favorite beverage – strawberry milk. You can’t go wrong with pink and Japanese kawaii aesthetic!!! 😀 Let’s draw something red + kawaii. It’s not a specific subject, but instead a color. I went for a kawaii strawberry drawing! 😛 Frog drawings make a fun drawing topic, and they are so popular right now! 😉 Here is my version of a kawaii frog drawing. These two adorable friends are the perfect companions to curl up with for an afternoon nap. You’ll definitely enjoy drawing this sleeping cat and dog. 8. You don’t need any special tools or expensive equipment to start, but it’s best to have a sketchpad or drawing book ready to keep your drawings organized. Ability to draw many things from memory is something that happens over time. I am putting this skill as a future project. Sequence There’s no denying that it’s hard to resist the allure of these cute, adorable characters! Although some may think that drawing Kawaii is too difficult for them to do on their own, it’s actually one of the easiest ways to begin learning how to draw. At first I felt intimidatedby how awesome the drawings look, and how difficult the task seems to be…

Hello my Kawaiian friend! This post is a select collection of my kawaii drawings for 2021. I love to draw kawaii and to make beautiful things with the kawaii art I create. My hope is that these kawaii drawings will inspire you to draw as well, and they will spark a few creative ideas! For a great handmade gift, include this quote beneath your drawing, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” -Vivian Greene. 31. Baby Tiger Drawing Credit: @lilypawstudio | Ko-fi To create a kawaii drawing, start by thinking of your favorite kawaii thing as your subject. There is no limit to the possible subjects you can draw, but a few of our favorite ones are daily items such as food, animals, and objects. I eliminated “use of materials” and “colouring in large areas” because these will be practiced as part of other skills. I also skipped “colour”because it’s not directly related to the style of kawaii that I am learning right now. Anyone interested in kawaii art should give kawaii drawings a try because it is fun to learn! There are great books that feature step-by-step instructions and add challenges for mastery. Manga is a word that originally means ‘whimsical pictures,’ but it has evolved to represent Japanese comics. Kawaii manga is drawn in a kawaii style. They typically focus on school life and friendships. These kawaii manga characters look super cute! If you can draw kawaii manga art, you could illustrate stories or comic strips or create your own kawaii manga magazine! As you can see, it’s a large and unfocused list. All over the place! But that’s ok, next step is selecting the skills that matter. Select I am giving myself approximately 6 months to practice. To simplify things I am assuming 4 weeks in each month. I know it’s more, but I am creating a schedule that will go over 6 months x 4 weeks = 24 weeks. Pen skills (Months 1 – 3) Month 1

So when I sat down to draw it, the drawing “just came out”. No research, no struggle, no failed attempts. One of those rare times. 🙂 I love it when that happens. Here is my cute butterfly drawing with green overtones. I wanted to use an unconventional color for this cutie to challenge myself and bring spring freshness to the drawing. Oh, and did I mention that “sage green” is the hottest color trend right now? 😉 Do you wish you could draw like this? Do you wantto be able to produce kawaii drawings anytime, anywhere, and on any subject? Yes, me too! Once you are done, please share your drawings in our private Facebook group, so we can all see them.Let’s draw a kawaii mushroom for this week. Did you know that the largest living organism on our planet is a mushroom?!! It’s in Oregon, USA and it coves almost 4 square miles. Amazing! One dayI was listening to a podcast by Tim Ferrisson how to learn any skill fast. That’s it!!! That’s the answer to my challenge! You’ll start by drawing a square. There are a couple of options for the exact scale you use. First, you’ll see the 50/50 split, where the head and the body are the same height as each other. The other is the 60/40 split, where the head is even larger and the body is tiny. Ilaria notes this second style is popular in animal illustrations. I decided to apply the techniquesTim talks about to learning how to draw kawaii. I am giving myself 6 months of (somewhat) focused practice to see what can be achieved. I say “somewhat”, because I am a Mum of a very energetic toddler :). So I have very limited time to practice. Tim Ferriss’ Method for Learning Anything Faster Bubble tea is the perfect drink to include in your drawing. You’ll have fun drawing this cute girl character sipping on her favorite drink.

Who doesn’t love a friendly pup? This drawing of a friendly dog is perfect for all skill sets. Plus, it won’t take long to create, but it looks incredible when you’re done. 13. Momma and Baby Alligators Credit: @lilypawstudio | Ko-fi Kawaii drawings are cute and fun to look which can instantly improve mood. Kawaii is good for your health. The drawing might look complicated… but if you take it 1 element at a time, it will come out great! The methodis to break down skill into the smallest learnable units. Then select and practice the units that have the biggest effect on the desired outcome (in this case, ability to draw kawaii). Now, I know 1 month is NOT enough to learn storytelling. This is just an introduction. My aim is tolearn a few scenes that can be used for kawaii situations. Like building a visual vocabulary of images, storytelling is an on-going practice. I will start simple and build on it. Month 6 Let’s draw a cute POPSICLE! I used watercolor wash to create this cutie. I really love how the colors mix and run on wet paper and “do their own thing”. 🙂 No two popsicles come out the same! To help remember the steps, Tim suggests an acronym DiSSS (ignore the “i”): Deconstruct, Select, Sequence, Stakes.
