Company Details

The Heldrake and Maulerfiend now include their base weapons in their cost, but are otherwise unchanged. The Heldrake can also be armed with a Baleflamer in place of its Hades Autocannon. The Baleflamer is a daemonic Flamer weapon that allows the Heldrake to heave out the great gouts of daemonic Warpfire roiling within their chests. The burning ichor that rains down upon their prey ignites flesh and soul alike. The Chaos Space Marines traitor legions are the enemy of the Imperium, known for being warped and mutated by the four daemonic Chaos Gods; Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle. Created during the Warhammer 40k Horus Heresy, the Heretic Astartes, led by Horus the Warmaster, turned against the Emperor of mankind. This act of heresy would lead to countless deaths and many centuries of endless war. Some will soar through the skies as heralds of the destruction to come, retractable weapons pushing out from their gullets and spitting volleys of red-hot bullets that cut down the scrambling, earthbound defenders below. Others prefer to plunge through the clouds into the crucible of battle, screaming in savage joy as they crash headlong into the fight. The Khorne Lord of Skulls now has a base cost of 435 points, but this includes the Skullhurler and Ichor cannon in the base cost. Upgrades are comparable. Dark umbilical cables, sheathed in organic webbing, probe outwards from each Heldrake's body to burrow into the host voidship's outer surface, drawing away raw energy as a leech draws blood from its victim. When the Chaos warships arrive in low orbit, the Heldrakes detach themselves, unfurling their great wings as they plummet towards the atmosphere of the victim planet below.

During the first battle round, your army (and every unit from it) is engaged in Wanton Destruction. Perhaps the most surprising part of the January FAQ update was the fact that it included points adjustments for a number of units. A welcome change, sure, but entirely unexpected! The document itself is essentially an entirely new Munitorum Field Manual, covering points for every unit in the game, laid out in the new Codex format (as opposed to listing wargear options separately). On a wargear note, Thunder Hammers went from 40 points on a character to 20. You still won’t use them since they mess with Death to the False Emperor and other abilities that proc off modified hit rolls, though. Helbrute • Ferrum Infernus Dreadnought • Contemptor Dreadnought • Sonic Dreadnought • Berserker Dreadnought • Hellforged Leviathan Dreadnought • Deredeo Dreadnought

The Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour is now 100 points base, including his Power Sword and Combi-bolter, which brings the cost of the model down 2 points. Combi-weapons and upgrading to a Chainfist or Power Fist will cost you an extra 5 points now. Spartan • Fellblade • Typhon • Cerberus • Falchion • Mastodon • Lord of Skulls • Death Wheel • Plaguereaper • Plague Centurion At the start of the third battle round, select either Wanton Massacre or Wanton Slaughter; until the end of that battle round, your army (and every unit from it) is engaged in the wanton act you selected. Bloodletters • Plaguebearers • Horror of Tzeentch • Daemonette • Nurglings • Beast of Nurgle • Plague Drone • Flamer • Screamer Blight Drone • Contagion • Foetid Bloat-Drone • Plagueburst Crawler • Myphitic Blight-Hauler • Plague Centurion • Plague Hulk • Plague Tower

Chaos Lord • Exalted Champion • Chaos Champion • Aspiring Champion • Sorcerer Lord • Daemon Prince • Daemon Prince of Nurgle • Daemon Prince of Tzeentch • Death Guard Lord Defilers went up to 135 points (+15), but that includes their Reaper Autocannon (-10) and the Defiler Scourge is only 5 points now (-5), so if you take one with the common loadout, nothing has changed. Imperial Armour Volume Thirteen - War Machines of the Lost & The Damned by Andy Hoare, Alan Bligh and Neil Wylie, pg. 114 Deadly Pathogens are here too – these are the upgrades for plague weapons we saw previewed on Warhammer-Community. We don’t know what most of these do yet, but we do know that they cost between 10 and 20 points. Each of these adds +1 to the strength of the weapon, and the one we have seen – Viscous Death – costs 10 points for +1 strength and the ability to re-roll hit rolls. That’s pretty good, and we could see using that on a foul blightspawn or a Lord of Virulence.Raptors are now 15ppm (-3). That’s a massive drop for a unit that was already starting to look pretty good thanks to the Astartes Chainswords update. Abomination - What daemonic essence drives the Heldrake known as Abomination, none can say, for the beast-machine broke its bonds and slaughtered its Warpsmith creators upon the very hour of its binding. It has been the terror of Imperial air crews for centuries, a nightmare creature shrouded in horror stories. From hollow Cerberos to the acid veils of Nachtghast, Abomination has torn its victims from the skies with unrestrained savagery and drawn other Heldrakes in its wake. Blightlord Terminators are 40 points per model, and their cost includes combi-bolters (3) and melee weapons, including Baleswords and Bubotic axes. This means that on the whole they dropped 3ppm while gaining a wound (well, soon anyways). That’s a welcome change! Death Guard Defilers are 160 points base now, reflecting that, at the very least, they’re WS/BS 3+ now. Blood Reaper • Blood Slaughterer • Blood Throne • Brass Scorpion • Cauldron of Blood • Death Dealer
