Our Test Kitchen-Preferred Toasters

This toaster was one of our Test Kitchen’s favorites for many reasons, including the generously sized slots. At more than six inches long, you can easily toast long slices of ciabatta and sourdough without having any bread peeking out of the top untoasted. As for those slices of artisan bread, it came out perfectly toasted every time—no burnt toast here! The Wolf toaster did take a bit more time to toast up our bread and waffles, but our Test Kitchen thought the flawless performance was worth the extra 15 seconds of time.

And if you prepare your toast too soon and need more time to finish the eggs and bacon, push the “Keep Warm” button while the toast is down and it’ll stay warm until you’re ready to serve it. Minor Uneven Toasting We’ve already discussed the knobs great looks but they also feel fantastic. The quality is top notch. They feel really good in your hand and the design is solid. Most people may not really care about the knob on their toaster but because it’s a Wolf getting the knob right is important. Wolf ranges are famous for their knobs and the toaster doesn’t disappoint. These knobs are just as nice and of equal quality to what you’ll find on the range. Slots: Are the toaster slots wide enough to accommodate all kinds of bread like bakery-style bagels and larger slices of artisan bread? SMEG toasters are particularly well-suited to households that enjoy a variety of breads and pastries. The reheat function allows you to warm up your toast without burning it, while the defrost function comes in handy for frozen bread. The bagel function, on the other hand, allows you to toast only the cut side of a bagel, leaving the other warm and delicious. Small single piece of paper saying the toaster uses radiant heat and that while toasting, not all heating elements may be glowing.
