About this deal

Besides loading you with energy, high-calorie nutrition bars can also help you build muscle easier.

Forearms respond well to high-rep sets. The high time under tension gives both forearms and upper arms that "full" look. And since high-intensity upper-body exercises can be dangerous because of the two-joint action, a safer approach is limiting weight on fat-grip exercises and focusing on higher reps and longer time under tension.Love Good Fats claim these bars are “loaded with good fats from nuts, nut butters, and coconut oil”. With almond butter listed as the first ingredient, this is partially true. However, palm stearin oil is the second ingredient, meaning that these bars contain more palm oil than coconut oil. Palm oil is a processed oil that contains mostly saturated fatty acids. As such, it is not an oil that I would describe as a “good fat”, and certainly not when used in such high amounts. A small bar typically contains around 150kcals – that’s less than a Mars bar (228kcal) but more than a banana (89kcal). Because these bars are made from dried fruit and nuts they are more nutritious than biscuits, chocolate or sweets. They are also high in fibre and the fats are usually from nuts, which contain healthier unsaturated fats, unlike the saturated fats found in chocolate, cakes and biscuits. Note: the nutrition facts below reflect the Cookie Dough flavour of Love Good Fats bars. The range of nutrition information for all flavours is listed in parentheses. See our Nutrition Facts Comparison Chart below for details, While these bars are low in net carbs, they’re very high in sodium, providing 600–750 milligrams (mg) of sodium per bar, depending on the flavor. Most other bars on this list contain only 100–200 mg of sodium. Thankfully, Love Good Fat’s chewy nutty bars are gluten-free and soy-free, made with no artificial flavors or preservatives, and contain zero sugar alcohols. Plus, they contain coconut oil and MCT oil so you can trust that you’re getting loads of the good fats you want while keeping the carb count super low. I love that there are no unpleasant side effects like bloating when I eat these bars!

Research suggests that diets high in ultra-processed foods are linked to an increased risk of chronic health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and obesity ( 26, 27, 28).Nuts and dried fruit can be a nutritious choice in small portions. They can be high in calories, so aim for a small handful as a portion. These bars are also “Keto Certified”– a certification provided by a third-party company. This certification is not regulated by government labeling laws, and we have been unable to find criteria that this company uses to assess food products. The Canadian government has strict rules surrounding the labeling of food products for special diets. However, this and other “Keto Certified” products can use this certification as the third party company is using their own criteria, and not claiming to adhere to any regulated nutrition standards. BHU’s keto bars are some of the best-tasting I’ve tried. They really taste like cookie dough, and they make for a great dessert. But since they’re pretty high in fat, these relatively small bars are pretty high in calories — something to keep in mind if you’re trying to lose weight.”
